Car detailing means taking care of every aspect of your vehicle, including the interior. Today we bring you five interior car detailing tips you should keep in mind to ensure that every angle of your ride is always clean and protected.
Use Vacuum Attachments
A vacuum is one of the most important tools when you detail the interior of your car. Make sure to take advantage of all the attachments. For example, use the upholstery attachment for the headliner and seats, and the smaller nozzles for hard-to-reach spots.
Get Creative
No matter how effective your vacuum is, there will always be tight spots in the interior of your car that require extra effort. Those areas include air vents, console buttons, panel seams, and seat seams. Some of the tools you may consider using to clean those spots include:
- Toothpicks
- Cotton swabs
- Toothbrush
- Small paintbrush
Work From the Top Down
Just like you do when you wash your car, it’s best to detail the interior of your car working from the bottom down. The principle is the same: this way you keep debris from falling onto parts of your car that are already clean.
Save the Glass for Last
Glass is more sensitive than other materials, so it’s better to save it for last. Spray a non-ammonia glass cleaner directly on a microfiber cloth to avoid spills. Then use the cloth to clean all exposed glass areas such as windshield, windows, and sunroof. Once you’re done with a part, clean it with a dry microfiber cloth to buff out streaks.
Vacuum Again
Your interior car detailing routine should be as unique as your car, so feel free to add any steps your vehicle may need. For example, leather seats require a bit more attention than upholstered seats. Use dedicated products if necessary, and don’t forget that detailing the interior of your car also includes the trunk and other cargo areas. Once you are satisfied with the result, give it an extra touch of cleanliness and freshness by vacuuming everything once more.
