Christmas is finally here! And while the holidays are a lot of fun, they can take a toll on your vehicle. Here are four tips to keep your car clean in some of the most common Christmas scenarios.
Keep an Eye on the Kids
Kids love Christmas and it’s easy to see why — the merriest season of the year brings toys, yummy food, and a lot of time to play. And while seeing happy kids warms anyone’s heart, you also want to keep an eye on them to ensure that your vehicle stays tidy. Some ideas to protect your car without interfering with your kids’ fun include:
- Install car seat protectors
- Always carry trash bags, wipes, and stain remover
- Place cheap bathroom rugs on the floor
- Keep bath towels in your car (useful to clean a mess or as an improvised seat cover)
Beware of Christmas Food!
And by this, we don’t mean watching your figure. Since Christmas is all about food, chances are good that you’ll have to use your car to transport big containers filled with food that can leave stains on your car’s interior.
In this case, a casserole carrier or other similar bag is the ideal solution. If you don’t have one of those, the next best thing is to use heavy-duty rubber bands to secure the lid, wrap the container in a towel, and place it on the floorboard or in the trunk making sure it’s securely in place. If you need to place the container on the seat, protect the upholstery with a seat cover or an old towel.
